cut is a battery powered low-budget laser etch‘n‘scratch. The workspace of this device is about 3.8 cm x 3.8 cm and is working with a 1 W near-infrared laserdiode, which has enough power to leave its trails on paper and wood. Inside of the about 20 cm x 20 cm x 20 cm measuring box are the linear guides taken from 2 old Compact Disk drives. The laser is moved by to Arduino-controlled sepper motors, which can be operated with the small joystick on top of the box. | february 2013
